Laura Barbour is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi (B.B.A. 1997; J.D. 2000). She was a Christine and Clarence Day Scholar in the School of Business Administration and was awarded the Taylor Medal. In law school, Laura received the Dean Robert J. Farley Award and served as Associate Articles Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal. Upon graduation, Laura clerked for the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale, United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit, and later worked in the Labor and Employment Department of the Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens, and Cannada Law Firm. She is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and is licensed to practice in all state courts of Mississippi as well as the Northern and Southern U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Areas of Legal Practice include: General Litigation; Insurance Litigation; Labor and Employment; Appellate Practice; General Civil Practice. Personal: Spouse: Charles Barbour (11 years of marriage); Children: Jane Gray (6.5 y/o), Charlie (4.5 y/o), and Meg (2 y/o); Member of First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, and the Junior League of Jackson.
